Starnash Farmhouse
This was a roof conversion and substantial 4 bed extension to a Victorian farmhouse in Upper Dicker. The brief was to create bed and breakfast accommodation with its own guest entrance and that could be operated separately from the owners part of the house. The extension was built using reclaimed brick and roof tiles so as to merge seamlessly with the original. The house now has substantial green credentials and has been thermally upgraded . Ground source heating is used for hot water and space heating, and 8kw of solar panels are located on an adjacent barn to provide a good proportion of the electricity required to run the house
